My Jewish Friend...

I needs some advice! I have a friend who is a practicing Conservative Jew and while we’re friends when we’re at school, I feel like my acceptance of Yeshua causes a huge amount of tension between us.

I’m not sure exactly what to say to make things ok…does anyone have any suggestions? I’d hate for this to be the end of our long friendship, but we just no longer see things the same way.

Shalom MissEmma88, I have been in similar situations. Rather than focus on the tension that is caused by your belief differences I would suggest that you find out more about her. Develop your friendship with her by finding some common ground and shared values. You both love and worship the same God that she does and read the same Holy Scriptures. I recommend a great book I read called: Our Jewish Friends, by Louis Goldberg. After reading this you will have a better understanding of what the Conservative position is in view of the Messiah, repentance of sins etc. I hope this has helped a little bit. Blessings B'shem Yeshua
