World Anti-Semitism on the Rise

According to the Jerusalem Post, anti-Semitism is on the rise internationally. The U.S.A. State Department released a report showing worldwide anti-Semitism has increased over the last decade.

After more than 60 year since the Holocaust, the report shows that anti-Semitism is very much a large, present problem rather than merely being a historical occurrence. In the past 10 years, the report concludes that U.S.A. embassies internationally have recorded a rise in attacks against the Jews as well as damage to their property and to their religious institutions.

Along with these anti-Semitic actions, harsh criticism in the public media of the state of Israel has been a growing issue, causing false, discriminatory generalizations about Jews. This increase in public discrimination is unwarranted, of which none of the U.N. agencies has condemned, but rather seem to encourage to a degree.

The study singles out several leaders and regimes who "fan the flames" of hatred against the Jews, including Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the Syrian government and Egyptian and Saudi Arabian state media.
