Is Messianic Judaism Dying in Israel?
October 23, 2008 (Cleveland, Ohio) – A look at recent discriminatory activity in Israel by Jewish citizens will reveal that they have never been more against the Messianic activities occurring in parts of Israel, reports TheMessianicCenter.com, a social networking website dedicated to uniting the worldwide Messianic community.
Jews for Judaism, an international counter-missionary organization, states on their website, they feel that the noticeable growth in the number of Israelis converting to Christianity is due to “the efforts of Evangelical missionaries who use ‘Messianic Judaism’ to deceptively describe their form of ‘Christianity for Jews.’”
“It is inevitable that in the next few generations, the Messianic population will eventually die out due to marriage and loss of tradition,” claims Azzan Rosen*, an independent Israeli tour guide. “Interfaith marriages will ultimately eliminate the Messianics because eventually the Jewish traditions will be lost in future generations and belief in Yeshua will logically lead to a Christian way of life. That’s exactly what happened after Yeshua – his followers were Jewish but some generations later, that community was Christian.”
Despite the opinion that Messianic Jewish community will eventually phase out, there is growing evidence that the Messianic Jewish community in Israel has never been stronger. Israel was once home to 3,000 Jewish believers, and today the Messianic Jewish community consists of approximately 15,000 members within the country and approximately 300,000 members across the world. “Many say it’s the strongest growth since the time of Jesus and that the Messianic movement could be on the brink of a great revival,” states a Christian Broadcasting Network report on the Messianic Jewish community in Israel.
TheMessianicCenter.com provides a platform for people across the globe to connect with other Messianic believers. In the midst of the current Messianic struggle, there is no easier way for Messianic believers in Israel to reach their brothers and sisters in other countries than through the Internet, and The Messianic Center offers the tools to connect people of all faiths together to dialog and support one another.
Is the Messianic community in Israel on the decline? Will Messianic Judaism eventually be replaced with Christianity? Are deceitful methods used to convert Israeli Jews? Discuss controversial issues facing the world-wide Messianic community by visiting www.TheMessianicCenter.com to express your opinions and share with others!
