Jer_thumbJerusalem
Jerusalem, The Holy City, chosen by God to be His special dwelling place, is often referred to as The Eternal City, The City of Peace, and the City of the Great Kings. It is first mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 14:18 as Salem and the place referred to in Genesis 22, where Abraham was to take Isaac for sacrifice. It has carried many different names: Jebus, Jebusi, Salem, Urasalimu, Sion of God, Zion, City of David, el Kuds esh-sherif, and, in Hebrew, Yerushalayim.

Gal_thumbGalilee
The area known as the Galilee is in the northern region of Israel and was a district of Palestine about sixty miles long and thirty miles wide in the days of Y’shua. Galilee is important to believers because Y’shua spent most of His life here. His home of Nazareth was in Galilee and eleven of His disciples were Galileans, as were Jonah, Elisha, and perhaps Hosea. About two or three million people may have lived in towns of the Galilee in Y’shua’s day.

Meg_thumbMegiddo
In Hebrew, Megiddo means, “Place of Troops.” Overlooking the fertile Jezreel Valley, one of Israel’s most lush scenes is the Tel of Megiddo, an interesting and important excavation. It has revealed the ruins of the previous settlements, in layers, which form the artificial hill or tel. The first excavation was a deep trench dug in 1903, which uncovered remains dating back to about 2000 B.C.
